(by Dan 3/17/16)
It’s been an exciting week in India! Ministry began day one sharing with 200 pastors at an annual conference in Delhi with Solomon and Harvest Ministries to the Unreached. Prayed with Josh’s church Saturday and then ministered in Solomon’s church in Chandigarh on Sunday (and two other locations) where we saw many healings and deliverances. Not only Shema, but Joby and Rhema from Delhi have been an integral part of this week’s team.
Monday we traveled with Vijay, one of the leaders of the Nazarene organization, to Amritsar, Punjab, the “land of 5 rivers.” During the day Joby and Rhema spoke at a small church and did a great job releasing the Presence of God and ministering to the people. That evening was the revival convention. They had expanded beyond the Nazarene church and over 25 pastors united their churches to help host the event. They were hoping for 500, but nearly 800 people came to the large hall they rented. This was historic!
We had a great time of worship and then Shema and I preached. Vijay had told me the main reason they asked me to come was because they wanted me to pray…that they saw I had power to pray (don’t we all?)! So we preached and then we prayed. I asked all who were sick or in pain to stand and at least 200 stood. We prayed a healing prayer and then asked how many were healed. Hands shot up all over the room as people rejoiced in the healing they received. Many people stood in response to the invitation to salvation.
The next night we gathered again. This time over 1000 people came. We worshipped, preached and prayed. Literally hundreds of people raised their hands signifying they had been healed. We rejoice that about 25-30 people stood to receive God’s free gift of salvation. To stand and make a public confession of becoming a follower of Christ here is monumental because of the possible persecution that could follow.
Now, the reports are coming in. We were told that this was the first time they had ever hosted a revival convention and the first time they had so many healings at one time. The churches are working and praying together in unity. They are being strengthened, encouraged, built up and revived! The host pastor wanted to extend the meetings two more days and although our schedule would not allow it, plans are being made with Vijay for a 3-day conference next spring at this location and 3 more revival conferences in additional states in North India. What God is doing here is beyond what any of the pastors had imagined could happen…there were even Punjabi political leaders who attended the services.
God is on the move. We believe this is His appointed time to pour out His Spirit in North India. And together…you who have given, you who have prayed, and we who have come here…together, God is using us to bring spiritual breakthrough in the Land of 5 Rivers. I will be returning to Punjab with Mushtaq in just a few weeks for another 5 days of ministry. God has us focused on an area we have prayer walked in the past…and having Him open so many doors is just amazing. Thanks for your prayers!
