As we shared in March, we hope to begin International School of Ministry (ISOM) training centers in North India, and asked you to pray. We have found that one of our ministry partners (and his wife) graduated ISOM 7 years ago. He is thrilled with the training and is eager to be our point person to establish these centers. We believe many of those in the region we just visited will greatly benefit from this leadership training. Only God could have arranged this! We are grateful for generous donors who provided this tool.

Dan and a small team will be in India Mar 15 – April 18. This trip will involve travel to 2 states. It begins with conducting a 4 day leadership conference for 110 house church leaders in Delhi,  going to Kashmir to visit our shepherds and check on the sheep project, meeting with ministry partners, visiting and prayer walking mountain villages and doing many, many house visits. Please cover Dan and the team in prayer. It’s going to be an amazing journey, and we look forward to far reaching results. 5 Rivers has just come into a partnership with the International School of Ministry (ISOM). ISOM provides first class materials to disciple and train leaders for fruitful ministry.  The materials are provided on video and can be discreetly distributed…even the most remote villages can have access to the best teachers in the world.  Training is balanced in three areas: knowledge, character and gifts. Through this partnership, we are believing God to establish ISOM training throughout North India.  Our goal this year is to set up 4 training locations with some of our current ministry partners.  Please pray men and women will be discipled, trained and released to bring in the harvest in North India.

I am a huge fan of the Avengers. Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk – they assemble from different places, different backgrounds, and different story lines to gather together in a time of need. This past February I got to work with the real Avengers – a team assembled from America, Egypt, India, Thailand, and Cambodia, who gathered together and changed the very atmosphere over Sisophon.

Sisophon is just a small dot on a map in the northwestern corner of Cambodia in a province called Banteay Meanchey. For the past year, I have been working with a team of thirteen young Cambodian Christians. We have been teaching a Bible-based English program called Water Drop to the teachers in the province, so they can start English programs in their own schools. While we have had some government support, much of our work here has felt like treading through water.  

The team visited strategic points throughout the province. Each place we went held spiritual significance. Our main prayer in each location was to lift the veil of cloudy thinking, closed ears and closed eyes so the people would have free and complete access to seeing Jesus. (2 Corinthians 4:4)

Our daughter, Jenni, serves as a missionary to the nation of Cambodia. During her recent visit home we were able to talk and pray about the work God has called her to there. Her job is to train nationals to teach thousands of Buddhist teachers how to speak English using a Christian curriculum she has developed that introduces them to Jesus. The teachers, in turn, are to teach their students English using the same curriculum. The program is called “Water Drop” and is an unprecedented opportunity to affect a nation for Christ.

As we spoke I felt the Holy Spirit say, “Go! Pray!  Lift the veil off this nation that they will have eyes to see, ears to hear and minds that will perceive the love of Christ.” I immediately said “Yes, Lord.  I will go.” And the dates came together: Feb 9-19.

In less than two weeks God has assembled a very strong team who will go on this prayer journey.  There will be four of us from Phoenix, two from Egypt, one from India and one from Thailand all converging on Cambodia connecting with the local missionaries to pray.

We will be prayer walking spiritual power points, visiting villages, ministering to the national workers who are part of Jenni’s team and then conduct a 30 hour non-stop time of worship and intercession.  Our last day will be spent prayer walking Angkor Wat, an ancient city of Hindu temples, some of which are still being used for worship today.

Please take a look at our prayer points for this trip and agree with us that Heaven will touch earth and God will join our prayers with those of many who have gone before us to bring spiritual breakthrough.

Our family grew as God sent us a very precious baby this past year – Jameson, our first grandchild, was born in April to our oldest son, Josh, and his wonderful wife, Samantha. We are excited to have our whole family together again shortly for a late Christmas celebration – this picture was from our reunion this summer in Chicago, when Jenni was home from Cambodia (note the Cambodia shirts).
